Coaching Points
- Maintain elevated heel of the working leg: Ensure that the heel of your working leg remains elevated throughout the exercise. This helps engage the muscles of the working leg and promotes a more explosive movement.
- Press through the big toe: As you drive up explosively, focus on pushing through the big toe of your working foot. This helps activate the muscles of the lower leg and foot and provides a strong base for the movement.
- Drive up explosively to mid-range position: Generate maximum power and explosiveness as you drive up to the mid-range position. This is the point where your working leg is approximately halfway between the ground and the fully extended position. Focus on exerting force quickly and forcefully to reach this position.
- Lower back down to the ground: After reaching the mid-range position, control your descent back to the ground. Lower yourself with control and avoid simply dropping or collapsing. This eccentric phase of the movement helps strengthen the muscles and improves overall control and stability.
- Repeat as fast as possible for the duration of the exercise: Perform the exercise with maximum speed and intensity for the prescribed duration. Emphasize explosive movements and quick transitions between repetitions. Maintain a fast pace throughout the exercise to challenge your muscles and improve power output.
